If you haven’t heard yet, Isla Mudra is back! I’ve just gotten the lab up and running in California and am so excited to bring you new and amazing things in the coming year! But first, so many reached out and requested a return of our best selling hair bars, I could not say no. Thank you for sharing your connections with what I make. I’m ecstatic that it’s making a difference for so many people. So without further ado, for those who are apprehensive about Solid Hair Care, let’s cover the basics…

How to use your Shampoo Bar

Using your Shampoo Bar is super easy! The gentle foaming agents make a concentrated bar that creates a nice, rich later right away. Simply rub it between your palms or directly on your hair, massage into scalp to lather, and rinse clean. A little goes a long way, so you can use as much or as little as you want. It also doubles as an amazing, luxurious body wash!

How to use your Conditioner Bar

Using a solid conditioner bar can take a little getting use to. But once you have it down, it’ll be like second nature. It’s now all I can use on my hair for the results I want.

Take your Conditioner Bar and get it nice and wet. Remember, there is no water added so that will help create glide. When the bar feels slick, apply it to wet hair. Smooth bar down the length of your hair, or from front to back if it’s shorter. Once it feels saturated, allow it to sit for a few minutes. Then rinse clean.

It takes less than a minute to apply once you get the hang of it.

How to Maintain your Hair Bars

To keep your bars in top shape keep them dry between uses by using a self draining bar holder, or raised soap dish. Travel is a breeze and TSA rules do not apply, so throw them in you fave water-proof bag and go!

And that’s it!

These concentrated formulas contain so many wonderful Hair Loving Ingredients, are PH balanced, and Ionically charged. They have changed my hair, from straight-up straw-like to silky ringlets, and I hope you experience the same type of change for the better!

Because… Here’s the thing:

Why would you want to switch to Solid Care Care?

The beauty industry can be excessively wasteful.

Over 552 million shampoo bottles are thrown away every year and as you know, they are almost exclusively plastic. Plastics are problematic because they are made from non-renewable resources, have limited recyclability, and take hundreds if not thousands of years to break down.

The hair care industry, part of the wider beauty sector, generates a significant amount of plastic waste, producing over 120 billion units of packaging annually, with a large majority of this packaging not being truly recyclable and ending up in landfills. In the US alone, the beauty industry creates nearly 8 billion units of rigid plastic packaging each year.

Twelve million tons of plastic finds its way into the ocean every single year. 9.5 million tons of this enters the ocean from the land with 1.75 tons being chucked into the sea directly. There are approximately 51 trillion microscopic pieces of plastic, weighing 269,000 tons.

Now that’s pretty depressing, isn’t it? No-one wants to be a part of that problem. After all, we just want nice hair, and to live our lives in peace each day, but our daily routines and rituals require us to make more careful decisions, now more than ever. As we’ve all seen over the decades, big industries don’t change unless we do.

While these hair bars are currently made in small batches, I’ve made it my goal to make the best solid hair care that you can find ~ because you deserve great hair, without the plastic. These bars are made entirely from certified sustainable and renewable materials, that are 100% biodegradable after use. The ingredient sources, as with all my ingredients, come from small intentional suppliers, and many indigenous farms and forgers. Some ingredient infusions are even made in-house. And they’re made without water, limiting water waste, and making them more concentrated for more uses.

If you think that doesn’t make much of a difference, just consider: An average person can go through around 11 plastic shampoo bottles per year. This doesn’t include conditioner bottles, or other hair care products. So every item you can make renewable choices in your daily routine, it makes a huge impact. Just imagine if 100 people switched to hair bars, or 1000! Thats real change. And a necessary one for the sake of our planet, and our future.

I hope this convinces you to give them a try. A lot of love, time, and research has gone into these little hair bars, and I’m so proud of them. Thanks to all who have shared their own success stories, and I hope to hear many more! Please reach out and tell me what you think. Good or bad, I always want to know so I can continue making the absolutely best solid hair care possible.
